In the book of Exodus, God told the Israelites that if they would hearken to His commands, He would put none of the diseases upon them that He placed upon the Egyptians, for He was the God “that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26).

This expression is a compound word in the Hebrew language, Jehovah Rapha or Jehovah Ropheka, which means the “Great Physician” (Strong’s, H3068, H7495). Simply put, God is our Healer.

He knows exactly what it is we need and He supplies our need according to His Word.

Not only did He heal the Israelites of old, but Jesus Christ came two thousand years ago to manifest Himself on our behalf as the Healer. Jesus Christ healed all the people that were brought to Him; this was not only an act of love and compassion, but it was a fulfillment of Isaiah 54.

If Jesus is the Great Physician, then there is nothing you are facing in your body today that He is not able and willing to heal. Don’t be discouraged by whatever you are facing in your physical body; it is no match for the sovereign power of God.

There is no sickness or disease that can stand before our Great Physician. He longs to heal you and deliver you because that is who He is. Healing is God’s nature. He heals us because He loves us, and He wants us to fulfill our divine purpose in the earth.

Healing is God’s nature.

There are no limits or restrictions on His healing power. Jesus bore our sins and carried our diseases so we no longer need to bare them.

Whether it is cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, kidney disease, infection, or any other ailment for that matter, it does not make any difference to God. He wants you whole! Through His power you can be healed.

He wants you whole!

By faith you will stand victorious over the physical pain and infirmity in your body, and you will testify of the goodness of God in your life. Jesus is your Great Physician.

A miracle is defined as a surprising and welcomed event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws, and is considered to be divine. Miracles are supernatural manifestations of God’s omnipotent power in the earth. To put it simply, our God is a miracle-working God.

God specializes in the impossible.

There is only one thing necessary when responding to a miracle—you must receive it! The Bible is filled with countless examples of ordinary people like you and me who had a supernatural encounter with God. The thing they all had in common was their willingness to receive what God wanted to do in their lives.

Receiving your miracle is not passive; it must be done intentionally with faith and expectation.

Don’t let the enemy talk you out of your miracle.

Don’t waste your mental energy trying to rationalize the promises of God. The Bible says that whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. Receive is the Greek word lambano, and it means to take a thing due (Strong’s, G2983). It is an act of one who has a sense of entitlement and ownership. When something belongs to you, you simply take it! There is no need to explain or negotiate.

It’s yours!

In the same way, it is time for you to take your miracle. Don’t wait on the doctor’s report or the diagnosis; receive your miracle now. Dare to take God at His Word. Whatever you have the audacity to ask for in prayer and the determination to believe, you will receive. It is that simple.

Have you ever thought about the part you play in your own healing?

What did Jesus mean when He said, “Whosever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed…. He shall have whatsoever he saith”? Beloved, this is the power of the spoken Word.

The truth of the matter is that you and I have to participate with God in order to receive and keep our healing. God does not need our help, but He requires our participation.

God requires your participation!

Most people were raised to believe that God does all the work and they are not required to do anything. As a result, people pray, “God, heal me!” and when they don’t see anything happen, they automatically assume it wasn’t His will to heal them. The reality is that we have to come to a place where we are doing more than just praying; we have to speak to the mountain of sickness.

When Jesus said that whoever “shall say,” He was using the Greek word eipon, which at its root means to declare (Strong’s, G2036). A declaration is a formal or explicit statement or announcement, usually with the notion of authority.

We are to declare to our body that it is healed; we are to declare to our mind that it is restored.

God never said that we should pray about mountains; He said we should speak to them in faith and with authority. So no matter what you are facing today, open your mouth and make some declarations according to the Word of God.

Make a declaration according to God’s Word!

Speak to cancer and tell it to be removed. Speak to diabetes and tell it to go! You will have what you say. Remember to never negotiate with that mountain (whatever it may be), but stand your ground and prophetically declare your victory.

A son honors his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honor? And if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?  Malachi 1:6

Have you ever seen a diamond?  It is a very expensive and precious gem stone.  The reason why diamonds are expensive is due to the fact that they are heavily controlled on the market and difficult to access in large quantities for most people.  This reminds me of an even more scarce and precious commodity: honor.  This is one of the rarest and most valuable “substances” in our society today.

What is honor?

Honor is defined as high respect or esteem.  When we honor something or someone, we attach significance and value to that thing or person.  You may have heard the expression used in a court of law, “Your honor!”  It is a title of high esteem.  The truth is that God is a God of honor.  He loves honor, and to be honored.

In fact, honor is one of the most powerful forces in the Kingdom of God.  Unfortunately, few people know what honor is and even fewer operate in the realm of honor on a regular basis.  We watch television shows, read tabloids, and listen to talk radio that is completely saturated with dishonor.  We speak negatively of our political and religious leaders and feel that this is our democratic right.  This is not God’s way.  The Word of God says in Malachi 1:6, “If then I be a father, where is mine honor?”  God is asking this generation, “Where is my honor?”  If we are going to experience the fullness of what God desires to pour out in this generation, we must learn to walk in honor.

More than a Natural Action

Honor is much more than respect and esteem; it is the supernatural catalyst by which God transfers something of great value to us.  When we honor someone, we are positioned to partake of the value and significance that they carry.  In the original Hebrew, honor means “weight”.  In other words, when we honor someone, they have “weight” in our lives.  For example, the bible tells us in Ephesians 6 to “Honor your mother and father, that it may be well with you.”  Our parents are the first people that we are introduced to in this world.  They are the prototype of honor.  God uses our parents to teach us to extend that same honor to Him.  When we dishonor our parents, we actually bring a curse upon ourselves. The bible says: “Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.” Proverbs 20:20

Notice that cursing our parents produces spiritual darkness and even death.  In the same way, when we dishonor God we bring spiritual and physical darkness into our lives. How do we honor God?

There are several ways that we can honor God:

1. We honor God with our heart.  This means that we hold Him in high esteem in our inward thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

2. We honor God with our lips.  Every word that we speak about God is a testament of whether or not we honor Him.  Do you speak words or engage in conversations that dishonor God?

3.  We honor God with our substance (or physical resources).  Proverbs 3 tells us to, “Honor the Lord with your substance, and with the first fruits of your increase”.  Everything that we possess belongs to Him.

4.  We honor God by honoring the God ordained authority that He has placed over us.  There are so many Christians who are bound in stagnation and spiritual immaturity, because they have never learned to honor their spiritual leaders.  Do you gossip about your pastor?  Do you seek his or her input when you are about to make major life decisions? This is all an issue of honor.

When you make a conscious decision to honor God and His people, you are posturing yourself to experience a deluge of blessing and provision in your life.

Different from the World

All of my life, I was told that I was different from everyone around me. I spoke differently, walked differently, and even thought differently from those in my environment. This became even more evident when I became born again in the early 1990s.

Throughout my Christian journey, I discovered what set me apart from my peers—the favor of God.

In my studies of Abraham, the great father of our faith, I came across an ancient biblical secret to living in a dimension of the tangible goodness of God every day of our lives. I found the answers to what set Abraham apart from the people of his day, what caused Abraham to walk in spiritual, physical, and emotional prosperity his entire life, and I discovered that it is possible for Christians today to live in that same abundance.

How are Christians to move in these trying economic times?

I believe that the Word of God promises every born-again believer the same favor that was on Abraham!

A Blessing by Faith

In the book of Galatians, the Bible tells us that the blessing of Abraham has come on the Gentiles by faith. What does this mean? Well, before we can answer that question, we must first learn more about Abraham.

Abraham is the father of our faith. He is the father of the Jewish people. In Genesis 12:1, God called Abram (later renamed Abraham) and his family out of his country and away from his kinsmen, and told him to go to a land that He (God) would show him. Can you imagine how frightening something like this must have been? Can you imagine leaving all that you know and are familiar with behind? Well, that is exactly what God told Abraham to do, and this required a ridiculous amount of faith to accomplish. In fact, God made a promise with Abraham in the next two verses; Genesis 12:2-3 says:

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

God actually told Abraham that He would not only bless him, but in him would all the families of the earth be blessed. This is pretty amazing! The first thing that God did after He called Abraham out of his country was make a promise to him. God never breaks His promise!

A Blessed Child of God

When God spoke this promise to Abraham, there was something that immediately transferred to him in the spiritual realm. Abraham became a blessed man! The Hebrew word for blessed is the word “barak” (Strong’s, H1288). This word literally means to bless or to cause to kneel. This blessing on Abraham’s life would cause situations, circumstances, finances, people, and even nations to kneel before him. He was magnetized with the supernatural favor of God.

In fact, Genesis 13:2 says that Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.  Why was Abraham experiencing this newfound material success? It was the power of the blessing that God spoke over his life.  You and I can walk in this same blessing when we learn to be intimate with God and believe His Word.  Intimacy is the key to favor.  Not get-rich-quick schemes, or the twisting of scripture, but a sincere love for God and a willingness to obey the spiritual laws that He has established.  It is time for you to walk in God’s supernatural favor.
