Regarding wisdom, the Bible says, “let him ask in faith, with no doubting.” If a person has doubts when asking about whether or not God will supply them with wisdom, they will not receive anything from the Lord. Notice how the word “anything” is used in reference to other promises of God that are received through the same faith transaction. The word “anything” includes wisdom, but it would also certainly include healing as well.

If a person says, “I have asked God to heal me, but I’m not sure if He will do it or not,” then I can already inform you according to the Bible what that person will receive—nothing.

“For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.”

The issue of doubt must be removed in order to move forward and possess what God said freely belongs to us. God is not withholding wisdom from His people when they ask for it. Neither is He withholding His healing power.

At the cross of Calvary Jesus paid the price through His bodily sacrifice to redeem anyone who would receive Him from the perils of spiritual death, sickness, disease, and every other form of defeat and suffering. He paid this ransom price of our salvation with His own blood. Since the price has already been paid, why would He hold back that which He died to make freely available to us? It brings great joy to the heart of God when we accept by faith the wonderful provision He made for us at Calvary.

We can receive wisdom when we need it by simply asking in faith and not doubting that He will abundantly give it to us. We can also receive healing for our injured, diseased, or sick bodies by asking in faith and removing any and all doubt that would suggest it is not God’s will to heal.

Standing firm on the promises of God and holding on to them without wavering is the biblical method of receiving God’s best for our lives. Doubt is a thief that robs a person of the promises of God. If doubt is allowed to come in to a person’s heart then it can rob an individual or an entire church of what rightfully belongs to that person. Doubt will evaporate like a morning mist on a hot day when you feed upon God’s Word.

Two months ago on a Sunday morning, I prayed for a young boy of the age of five. His mother reported he had been severely grinding his teeth in his sleep all night long for the past three years. In faith I prayed for the young boy, and I rebuked an evil spirit that was tormenting him. I then released God’s healing power into his body through the laying on of my hands. Later that night his mother slept next to him and she stayed awake all night long listening for any grinding, but he did not grind his teeth a single time, nor has he ever ground his teeth since. We see these and many other types of healings take place consistently.

When you pray for the sick, you must always keep your eyes on Jesus and visualize the Lord healing the people.

If the nine spiritual gifts could be considered “fun,” then I would have to think that the gift of healing is the most fun gift because it makes me so happy when others are healed. Since there are so many sick and diseased people in the church and in the world, this gift will always be in high demand and in frequent use.

Sometimes the healing is instantaneous, other times it takes a little while for the healing to fully come forth. But what joy it brings when someone has received deliverance from the devil’s torment and affliction. It’s fun to pray for the sick, especially when the healing gifts are in manifestation.

You will always have good results when you pray for people in faith and refuse to be moved by external circumstances. I have prayed for people when the gifts of healings were flowing through me. Often I have prayed for people in severe pain. I would lay my hands on them and pray for them while releasing God’s healing anointing in their body. Some would leave the prayer line in just as much pain as when they arrived. But I do not let that throw me in any way, because many of these same people would call or email me and say that the following morning when they awoke, the symptoms had completely left their bodies.

Always stay in faith and do not doubt that it is God’s will to heal—and for His people to enjoy divine health.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19).

They may claim He won’t heal them, though the Bible says He heals all your diseases and forgives all your iniquities (see Ps. 103:3).

Uncertainty causes some people to misunderstand who God is. They begin to deny God’s true nature and embrace sickness and disease, poverty and mental anguish as gifts from God. That is a devastating lie from hell. It’s actually blasphemous to attribute to God the work of the devil.

But many Christians want answers so badly during times of uncertainty that they invent theological answers to make themselves feel good about their present condition. In doing so, they sacrifice the truth about God on the altar of human reasoning.

That’s what causes people to say things like, “God gave my aunt leukemia to teach her perseverance.” No way. That has never happened. If somebody’s body is racked with pain or wasting away because of disease, it’s the devourer. It’s not the job description of the Messiah.

Again, the Bible says, “He forgives all your iniquities; He heals all your diseases.” It would never enter our minds that God would give someone a drug habit or a drinking problem to help them become better people. So why would He condemn people to disease? Or poverty? Or depression? Or any other miserable condition?

Let’s get this straight: God is good all of the time. The devil is bad all of the time. We do ourselves a tremendous service to remember the difference between the two. Healing, salvation, wholeness, provision, and joy have already been given to us. They can’t be recalled or returned. They are facts of Kingdom living. They were paid for by Jesus on the Cross.

Other Christians fall into the deception that when the Bible talks about sufferings, it means all of the above afflictions. Not at all! The suffering referred to in the Bible means living between two conflicting realities and trusting and praising God through it all.

Anybody can declare the greatness of God after they’ve won the Reader’s Digest sweepstakes. But when you live in the middle of a conflict—of having a promise that is not yet fulfilled, or having a problem that seems to never get resolved—you rise above circumstance and declare that He is good all the time, no matter what.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:8-10).

Here we see that it is the expressed will of God that no one should perish and go to hell. Yet, every day there are those who die in their sins and enter into hell. Why do they perish in sin and go to hell? Because they did not accept Jesus as their Savior while alive upon the earth. Even though it was not God’s will for them to perish, their rejection of Christ seals their eternal doom.

With this reality in mind, I have often heard some people speak incorrectly concerning God’s will to heal. I have heard countless believers say, “If it is God’s will to heal me, then He will heal me when He is ready.”

To make a statement like this is to also say, “If it is God’s will to save me, then He will save me when He is ready.”

God is not going to save you, or heal you, unless you choose to receive it by faith. God doesn’t overpower anyone and force them to be saved. God freely offers salvation, but unless a person receives it, that person will perish in his or her sins. God freely offers healing, but He absolutely will not force it upon anyone. If a person desires to receive healing, then that person must accept it by faith the same way one accepts salvation through faith. If you don’t accept salvation, you miss out on heaven. If you don’t accept healing, you miss out on being healed. It’s really that simple.

God is not going to save you, or heal you, unless you choose to receive it by faith.

By the true power of faith we heard God speak, we saw what He had for us and we gave voice with our faith and spoke hope into our future. But had we stopped there, nothing would have happened because faith needs works to be alive. It says in James 2:17 that faith without works is dead.

It says in James 1:22-25,

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

Hearing God speak His plan to us was the first step, receiving the vision from God was the second step, then by speaking this vision out with our faith-filled words we were completing the third step. These first three steps were necessary to fulfill His purposes, but without the fourth step the vision would die and our faith for this vision would be dead.

In order to bring the vision of God into fruition, we must physically work it out with our hands.

While living in the children’s home, the Holy Spirit never told me to speak a word and the babies would be supernaturally fed and changed. I had to physically feed and change them myself. But He did tell me to speak to their sick and crippled body parts and they were made whole supernaturally. He never had me speak to the mountain of dirty laundry and say,

“Be thou cleansed and removed from here and back into the closets!”

I had to physically work that part of the ministry, but He did teach me to speak words of faith to empty closets and cupboards and they were filled with the daily provisions that we needed.

Why would I share this with you? Many people are quick to hear God, they are excited to see the vision, they talk the talk, but many are not willing to work the vision that God has given.

It takes the working hands of faith to work out a vision.

Working hands take and transform a vision into reality. As we can see, faith involves action. What is God asking you to do? Be a doer of the Word, activate your faith and do what He has asked of you. Perhaps you may not be able to do it all in a day, but you can start the process today.

The other day, after a DARE to Believe Healing Conference, I was sitting in a restaurant with a group of people near Ocklawaha, Florida. As the waitress came to our table, she asked us,

“What church do you belong to?” And she continued to say, “I ask because you all just shine.”

We shared with her where we were all from and what we were doing. Then we asked her if she needed prayer for anything. She opened up to the three of us sitting at the far end of the table and shared some personal matters that needed inner healing. We also asked her if she needed any physical healing. She said she had a lot of trouble with her back and it was in a lot of pain.

So, right at the table, we laid our hands upon her. I placed my hand upon her back and as soon as I reached out and touched her, all pain was gone.

We prayed over the personal matters and spoke a prophetic word from the Lord, then we gave her some contact information for her to connect with the local body of believers in her area.

But did you notice that the opportunity opened up for us to minister to her because she first could see a shine on us?

In Matthew 5:16 Jesus tells us to “let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” We have been supernaturally equipped to create for the good of this earth—to create good that will bless and benefit the inhabitants of the whole earth.

In the book of Exodus, God told the Israelites that if they would hearken to His commands, He would put none of the diseases upon them that He placed upon the Egyptians, for He was the God “that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26).

This expression is a compound word in the Hebrew language, Jehovah Rapha or Jehovah Ropheka, which means the “Great Physician” (Strong’s, H3068, H7495). Simply put, God is our Healer.

He knows exactly what it is we need and He supplies our need according to His Word.

Not only did He heal the Israelites of old, but Jesus Christ came two thousand years ago to manifest Himself on our behalf as the Healer. Jesus Christ healed all the people that were brought to Him; this was not only an act of love and compassion, but it was a fulfillment of Isaiah 54.

If Jesus is the Great Physician, then there is nothing you are facing in your body today that He is not able and willing to heal. Don’t be discouraged by whatever you are facing in your physical body; it is no match for the sovereign power of God.

There is no sickness or disease that can stand before our Great Physician. He longs to heal you and deliver you because that is who He is. Healing is God’s nature. He heals us because He loves us, and He wants us to fulfill our divine purpose in the earth.

Healing is God’s nature.

There are no limits or restrictions on His healing power. Jesus bore our sins and carried our diseases so we no longer need to bare them.

Whether it is cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, kidney disease, infection, or any other ailment for that matter, it does not make any difference to God. He wants you whole! Through His power you can be healed.

He wants you whole!

By faith you will stand victorious over the physical pain and infirmity in your body, and you will testify of the goodness of God in your life. Jesus is your Great Physician.

A miracle is defined as a surprising and welcomed event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws, and is considered to be divine. Miracles are supernatural manifestations of God’s omnipotent power in the earth. To put it simply, our God is a miracle-working God.

God specializes in the impossible.

There is only one thing necessary when responding to a miracle—you must receive it! The Bible is filled with countless examples of ordinary people like you and me who had a supernatural encounter with God. The thing they all had in common was their willingness to receive what God wanted to do in their lives.

Receiving your miracle is not passive; it must be done intentionally with faith and expectation.

Don’t let the enemy talk you out of your miracle.

Don’t waste your mental energy trying to rationalize the promises of God. The Bible says that whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. Receive is the Greek word lambano, and it means to take a thing due (Strong’s, G2983). It is an act of one who has a sense of entitlement and ownership. When something belongs to you, you simply take it! There is no need to explain or negotiate.

It’s yours!

In the same way, it is time for you to take your miracle. Don’t wait on the doctor’s report or the diagnosis; receive your miracle now. Dare to take God at His Word. Whatever you have the audacity to ask for in prayer and the determination to believe, you will receive. It is that simple.

Have you ever thought about the part you play in your own healing?

What did Jesus mean when He said, “Whosever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed…. He shall have whatsoever he saith”? Beloved, this is the power of the spoken Word.

The truth of the matter is that you and I have to participate with God in order to receive and keep our healing. God does not need our help, but He requires our participation.

God requires your participation!

Most people were raised to believe that God does all the work and they are not required to do anything. As a result, people pray, “God, heal me!” and when they don’t see anything happen, they automatically assume it wasn’t His will to heal them. The reality is that we have to come to a place where we are doing more than just praying; we have to speak to the mountain of sickness.

When Jesus said that whoever “shall say,” He was using the Greek word eipon, which at its root means to declare (Strong’s, G2036). A declaration is a formal or explicit statement or announcement, usually with the notion of authority.

We are to declare to our body that it is healed; we are to declare to our mind that it is restored.

God never said that we should pray about mountains; He said we should speak to them in faith and with authority. So no matter what you are facing today, open your mouth and make some declarations according to the Word of God.

Make a declaration according to God’s Word!

Speak to cancer and tell it to be removed. Speak to diabetes and tell it to go! You will have what you say. Remember to never negotiate with that mountain (whatever it may be), but stand your ground and prophetically declare your victory.

Each one of us have unresolved thoughts, feelings, and impulses that seem to come right out of the blue at all the wrong times. But through healing prayer, we are learning about letting God take these unresolved issues—these things that are hidden in the depths of our hearts and are springing up, causing ungodly thoughts, emotional outbursts of different types, and impulsive and destructive behaviors—and healing them. They are toxic expressions lying just under the surface of our hearts.

So even though we may be enjoying a peaceful union and communion with God in our lives, none of us have arrived yet, and we all have areas in our heart that conflict with enjoying the progressive intimate relationship we have with Christ. As we experience emotional healing, walking in the Spirit becomes less and less hindered by these intruders. We must learn to intentionally welcome God’s presence so we move beyond just enjoying His presence in a place of a peace to diligently pursuing Him for deep healing.

We long for Him to search out the hidden things deep within us.

The most effective way to diligently pursue God is not by telling Him we only want to enjoy intimacy with Him, but also by letting Him know we want Him to search our hearts. We long for Him to search out the hidden things deep with us, the affected areas, the emotional abuse, that is buried alive under the surface of our hearts. And when He reveals what needs healing, then we’re going to deal with whatever He exposes according to His process.

That’s the diligent pursuit I’m talking about, because we all want these issues resolved in our life. These toxic expressions periodically paralyze us, periodically cost us in relationships and in many of the endeavors of our life. The Lord taught me how to instantly deal with issues such as these and get my peace back. Therefore, we need to passionately pursue this season of emotional healing, this area of intentional sanctification.

Search me, O God.

The psalmist prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Ps. 139:23-24). It’s not just about thinking this in our minds, but it’s about allowing God to search our hearts through prayer. He is able to go right to the core of some of these barriers, the heart of the things that have hindered us, the issues that rise up and resurrect themselves, causing us trouble, and He is able to bring deep healing.

We’re deliberately asking God to deal with these issues before they come up without notice. We are asking Him in advance to reveal the hidden areas of our hearts, allowing us to dismantle and abolish their effect in our lives. He longs for us to be free from the influence of these negative thoughts, impulses, and emotions. And we want to be those who respond rather than react—that’s the goal of maturing in the things of God.
