Destiny Image and best-selling author, Tommy Welchel, releases, “True Stories of the Miracles of Azusa Street and Beyond.”
The Azusa Street Revival, led by William J. Seymour, is a historic Pentecostal revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, Ca, and is known as the origin of the Pentecostal movement. The revival is known for it’s spiritual experiences accompanied by miracles, dramatic worship services, speaking in tongues, and inter-racial mingling.
Welchel lived and participated in this monumental Christian moment in history. During the revival, Welchel recorded first-hand accounts of the miracles he witnessed. These world-renowned testimonies continue to attract attention from the Charismatic Christian community.
“Miraculous healings, supernatural phenomena, and impossible situations are being turned around by a wonder-working God,” said Welchel.
Welchel grew up in poverty in a welfare family. His alcoholic father was violently abusive and in and out of prison due to drunkenness and illegal activities. His mother was completely illiterate, but knew her son was going to be a “preacher man someday because God told her.” Welchel dropped out of school after the 6th grade and eventually pursued a life of crime until he met Sister Goldie in Venice Beach, Ca, when he was 17 and on the run from the law. Sister Goldie led him to the Lord and the Azusa Street saints. His career included security work, and he was a licensed Private Investigator.
Welchel will appear on Sid Roth’s television show, “It’s Supernatural,” and Roth’s radio show, “Messianic Vision.”
