TV personality Danette Crawford’s 14th Annual Mother’s Day Event offers hope to thousands of single moms

(Virginia Beach, Va - April 16, 2014) ~ TV personality, Danette Crawford, is no stranger to the difficulties that single mothers face, as she has raised her 15-year-old daughter alone since she was just two-weeks-old.  Overcoming adversity through faith and fortitude, it is through Crawford’s life experiences and her compassion that drives her perpetual need to give recognition each Mother’s Day to the growing population of single mothers.

These uniquely brave women have been pushed under the table and snubbed by society because of their unfortunate circumstance. Crawford believes that no single mother should be uncelebrated. She wants to praise and acknowledge single moms throughout the Virginia Beach area during the upcoming 14th annual Mother’s Day event in Norfolk, Va.  To assist these single moms in turning their lives around, each one will be given a copy of Crawford’s newest book, Total Turnaround: 12 Keys to Breakthrough Every Area in Your Life, and enjoy dinner and a day of fellowship. In 2013, over 2,000 mothers left the event encouraged and inspired.

Crawford continues her commitment to invest in the long-term goal of helping to restore the lives of single mothers and their children by better integrating them with opportunities through her organization, Joy Ministries. Recently, the Captain of the Virginia Beach police department and the Virginia Beach Mayor recognized Crawford and Joy Ministries for helping the crime rate drop. Her educational and mentoring programs within the inner-city community have been successful and effective by providing support and guidance reducing negative behaviors.
